Cybersecurity of industrial & embedded systems

End-to-end industrial security

Shielding from threats and preparing the industry of tomorrow

Cybercrime profits from a changing digital environment by constantly adapting and launching elaborate attacks. Increasingly digitalized and interconnected industrial and embedded systems are exposed to potentially serious threats that exploit their growing vulnerabilities. To cope with this, it is vital to adopt a “secure-by-design” approach that is fit for purpose and takes full account of the specific evolutions of each system.

To respond to these cybersecurity and cyber-resilience challenges, CS GROUP acts as a consultant and integrator, always ensuring that there is a convergence between the physical and digital security of industrial and embedded systems.

Level 3 securization of FLAMANVILLE command-control

In partnership with Edvance, CS GROUP is developing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition for the third Unit of the Flamanville 3 reactor. This system, currently at the operational maintenance stage, is designed to concentrate and securitize tranche-related data and also process data.

The project mainly involved integrating several systems and relaying information to Level 4: corporate IS. After developing, approving and installing the systems and training the on-site teams, CS GROUP deals with operational maintenance and cybersecurity, constantly updating a hardened system of risk analysis and managing points of vulnerability relating to the operating system, developments, software and hardware installed during the production phase.

CS GROUP and the new European Satellite-Based Augmentation System Egnos V3

EGNOS V3, the new generation European Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) complements and reinforces the Galileo and GPS constellations, ensuring the accuracy, reliability and security of the geo-positioning signals they emit.

Airbus Defense and Space, the project sponsor appointed by the GSA (European Global Navigation Satellite Agency) for the production of EGNOS V3, has asked CS GROUP to take charge of the development, integration, certification and SoL (Safety of Life) support for two critical subsystems vital to the processing chain: the PCF (Prediction Chain Facility) and the MCIF (Monitoring & Control Interface)
  • Development & Integration Testing, Verification & Certification of the software and system
  • Certification in compliance with ECSS and DO-278A/ED-109A standards

The cybersecurity constraints of the EGNOS V3 project are huge. They are defined at organizational level by Security officers and architects, and also via demands arising from security analysis at system level.

All exchanges between the different EGNOS V3 subsystems are managed by authentication and integrity control algorithms. Security surveillance is subject to specific logs and alerts that are sent to external support and security operators (in particular a dedicated SIEM/SOC).
